InterFeel (IF): Please tell us something about yourself. Where are you studying currently? What are your hobbies and interests?

Manasi Bhushan (MB): My name is Manasi Bhushan. I am currently in the III year of V year law course (B.L.S. LL.B.) from Government Law College, Mumbai. I like reading, sports and exploring new places.

IF: Tell us something about your internship including process of application, stipend, duration and place?

MB: I interned with ARA Law, Advocates & Solicitors at their office in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The law firm mainly dealt in corporate law including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital. I applied through the placement cell of my college. The internship was open to students in third year of the five course (III-V, IV-V, V-V) or above and all the students of the three year course (III-I, III-II, III-III).

Duration of the internship – 4 weeks

Stipend – INR 5,000

IF: Let’s talk about how competitive the selection process was. Which qualities helped you to have edge in the selection process? According to you, what were the key things that selectors were looking for?

MB: Since it was my first internship with corporate law firm, I believe that my academic records were taken into consideration. What might have also helped is that I have previously worked on arbitration matters under a judge.

IF: Lastly, could you please highlight the work/research you carried out during your internship period?

MB: Since the firm specializes in corporate law, research work related to ongoing mergers, mainly, drafting of resolutions and filing of DIRs, listing and reviewing of documents, analysis on tripartite agreements and of legislations and regulations pertaining to Alternate Investment Funds and Company Law, 2013.
