uploadInternFeel: Hello Tanuj pleasure to meet you! Please tell us about yourself. What makes you different?

I am Tanuj Rana B.Tech 3rd year, NIT Kurukshetra. I have keen interest in robotics, automobiles and VLSI designing. I like singing, watching TV and traveling.

IF: Which internship you got the chance to take? What is it all about? Stipend, duration, place?

I got a chance to take 1 month internship in EMTECH Foundation, New Delhi in 1st year of my B.Tech. It was about PCB Designing, fabrication and PSICE. No stipend was provided.

IF: How you came to know about the internship? To what all sources you kept yourself connected?

I came to know about this through a CEO’s lecture organized by seniors of EMR club of my college. Actually a company came to our college for 2nd and 3rd year students but later on it decided to take two first year students also.

IF: Tell us on the procedure to apply for the internship. Who all are eligible to apply for this internship?

The selection was based on an interview taken by the CEO. Anyone with basic electronics knowledge could give that interview.

IF: Let’s talk about how competitive is the selection process.

What qualities of yours, you believe helped you in having an edge over the selection process? What key things you feel were looked for by the selectors?

It was slightly competitive as they had to take only 2 students. I think my good pointer and keen interest gave me an edge over others.

IF: About when you got the news for the selection? How was the celebration?

I got the news on the same day of interview.I was very happy and celebrated through a treat to my friends.

IF: What all preparations you did (academic/otherwise) after the results in view of the internship?

I did not do any special preparation as I was just in 1st year. But I revised workshop notes given by seniors the club.

IF: So Tanuj, could you please highlight us with what work/research project you carried out during the internship period? It’s application in near future and your work in it?

At EMTECH I was assigned a project on four way traffic light without use of micro-controllers. It gave me a wonderful and knowledgeable experience. In NETMAX there was no such project but I had make a project report on the things I had learned so far.

IF: What was the best thing about the work culture and the internship? What all things you liked there?

At EMTECH work culture was very good. Everyone was interactive and supportive there. Specially Naveen Sir (CEO) was very enthusiastic and wanted me to try harder on my own to so that I could not forget the things I learn.

Work culture of NETMAX was also good. My mentor was very supportive and always keen to share his knowledge with us.

IF: What was the guidance provided by your guide? What all support you received from the firm’s administration.

I received tremendous guidance about career to follow, scope of different branches of electronics from my guides.

IF: Let’s now talk about some negatives.

What problems you or your friends faced, regards to the internship, which your juniors may be able to avoid?

I did not faced problem as such. But some may face problem related to accommodation as no accommodation was provided through the firm. But one can get PG’s at reasonable rents easily.

IF: Anything you would like to tell us please. Feel free to share any interesting thing that happened.

At EMTECH I was assigned to make PCB’s for projects on my on that also from designing to fabrication and placement of parts. Most of the PCB’s were of IR sensor. So I enjoyed making and testing them by placing my hand in front of sensor.

IF: It would help the readers if you could bring a comparison among your two different experiences.

I think internship at EMTECH was better experience in terms of learning experience as it was interactive and fun with learning.

IF: To which all people you would, like to thank in context of this internship?

I would like to thank my seniors, friends and Naveen Sir for such a support and guidance.

IF: How much difference this period of 2 months made in your intellectual capabilities and mindset. In broad terms what are your gains from this?

I think it was mainly internship which made me to slide my branch from electrical to ECE in my second year. It was a great learning experience.

IF: Advice for juniors? Which can help them in getting internships in their future college life and also advice for making the best out of it.

I will advise juniors to stay in touch with your seniors as they can help you in ways you can never imagine and respect them.

I think with theoretical knowledge they must attend technical workshops and make projects to make their profile stronger.

IF: What are your future plans after this internship and how much impact this internship will have on it?

I am planning to apply for foreign as well as internships in India and this internship may give me an edge in selection.

IF: Any views about this initiative of InternFeel, and how beneficial it would be? Any suggestions for improvement?

I think it is very helpful for students searching for internships and you are doing an awesome job.

IF: So Tanuj, we are at the end of the interview. From the entire team of InternFeel, we thank you for sharing your experiences with us, for everyone and we wish you best of luck for all your future endeavors.
