In detail

InterFeel (IF): Please tell us something about yourself. Where are you studying currently? What are your hobbies and interests?

Aditi Maheshwari (AM): Hello all, I am Aditi Maheshwari, a junior undergraduate student pursuing Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech(H)) degree in Computer Science and Engineering at the LNM Institute of Information Technology, Jaipur. I am always eager to learn new things, things that look challenging and exciting. My areas of interest are algorithms and analytics.

Apart from the technical inclinations, I love reading, singing and watching TV series and a travel freak.

IF: Tell us something about your internship including stipend, duration and place?

AM: I joined Teabox as a tech intern.  Teabox – a vertically integrated multi-channel tea company that is changing a 200 year old tea industry. It is quite amusing and definitely they are working on a different concept. My job as a tech intern was to understand the current system, the technologies they have used to make it and to contribute to the system. My internship is for 3 months in the heart of the Bangalore city!

Duration of the internship – 3 months

Stipend – INR 15,000 + perks

Kind of work – based in tea industry – to understand the current system, the technologies they have used to make it and to contribute to the system

IF: Tell us about the procedure to apply for the internship. Who all are eligible to apply for this internship?

AM: The eligibility is majorly for 3rd year B.Tech students. Also along with that there are a lot more openings for marketing, social media, designing. I had applied directly through the website and then after a few technical and HR rounds, I was selected. For more details, you can visit the website

IF: Let’s talk about how competitive the selection process was. Which qualities helped you to have edge in the selection process? According to you, what were the key things that selectors were looking for?

AM: I had given a few interviews for summer internship and the one thing I realized is that they are looking for someone who has strong basics of the core subjects. In my case, it was data structures and algorithms, database management system, Object Oriented Programming and Computer Networks.

All these three years in my B.tech, I have tried to understand the core concepts instead of just mugging. That gave me an edge over others. They ask for simple logical questions and sometime they ask particularly from some courses at which their company is working on.

My suggestion would be, first go through the profile of the company thoroughly, understand what they are trying to build and work upon and rest is the basic. Learn and practice a lot of data structures and algorithms

IF: Could you please highlight the work/research you carried out during your internship period?

AM: I worked on their website on catching utm parameters for real time traffic analysis. The work was in Djnago (back end)

IF: Can you give us interesting details about your experience – good and bad?

AM: My internship experience was really good. It was fun and challenging to see the real world problems so closely and patiently dealing with them. The location was way too awesome. Kormangala (heart of Bangalore), lots of food joints, the team was very chill and supportive (I made so many new friends for life),

IF: How do you think this internship has helped you grow? In other words, what are your key takeaways from the internship?

AM: My takeaway from this internship was a lifelong experience, fun and learning. I learned about team spirit and patience. I worked on a real world problem by analyzing the real time parameters for traffic.

IF: Lastly, do you have any words of advice or caution for students aspiring for this internship and reading this piece?

AM: I would suggest to that one should keep applying and trying everything once in your Btech as these things will leave you with a memory and in the end will shape your career and set your path.

We would like to thank Aditi for the heartfelt interview and wish her all the success for her future.
